Reflection of the training Day 2

1.     Write your reflection connecting of 2^nd day (200 words).

Introduction:

The training was started with warm up activities. Mr. Hom Raj Khadka involved in the activities asking various questions to the participants and received various information about current trends in learning among the team of learners.

Session: One (Current trends in learning English)/Online Education:

    According to the schedule provided by our instructor, Mr. Hom Raj Khadka,we were informed to reach the venue at 10:30 am for the second day session. Our first session was started at 11:00 am on” Current trends in learning English”. According to the topic of the session, he focused mostly on “Online Education”. Similarly, he explained about Distance education and its flexibility in learning for the different levels of learners.He introduced us about the platforms of online learning courses such as:Coursera, Khan,EdX,USO,etc. Then, he explained us about the future of online courses and different sites of online course such as: www.coursera.org, www.edx.org ,etc.

 In this session, he divided the all the participants in four groups  having six members in each group and  assigned us task for preparing the ppt. file accumulating the concept of different styles of learning and sharing and exchanging the ideas among the members. I presented my presentation on Gamification in learning representing from group one. Through, this presentation session, all the members of each group practiced about presentation skill as well as searching the particular topic for crating ideas to come into the conclusion. This practical session really provided a golden opportunity to talk in front of the mass and able to reduce the hesitation while presenting paper. During this,we took Khaja break until 2:30pm and  Presentation  continued until 3:00 pm.

Session: Two   (Exploring Learning Environment)

 This session started from 3:00 pm. In this session, all the participants got an opportunity how we create an appropriate environment for learning. Our instructor, Mr. Hom Raj Khadka focused on that all the children can learn but environment should be in favor of them. Creating a part of teaching in association of physical components of learning like white board, computer, projector,etc..Student Support System (SSS), Supportive activities, assessment    (method of scaffolding), culture, community, digital literacy,etc are the major components that bring difference in creating suitable learning environment. We learnt from session was that learners should have such environment where learning could be done in: Any place, any time,any stuation,any device,etc.Likewise,virtual environment, digital tools,web conference, digital literacy,virtual community would be associable for exploring the learning environment.

Session: Three (Learning style in virtual Environment)

 This was the final session and it started from 3:35pm. Our instructor presented different ways of online learning. E-learning, web based learning; online learning, distance learning, blended learning, etc are the styles in virtual environment. He focused on how e-learning preserves the ecological balance? English is taken as multidisciplinary subject which occupies the knowledge of history, economics science, environment science, etc. Designing the online courses under MOOC, Moodle.etc would make the teachers innovative and active for teaching and learning. This session really helped us to be a good teacher.

Conclusion:

This second day session was really based on practice which made all the participants active for creating, searching and presenting the tasks in group. The house captain Miss. Devi Sinjalee also played active role to provide supportive materials to the new participants. Participants were lacking electronic tools laptop for working in their own pace so I would like suggest  our instructor to inform all the participants for carrying such devices suit as per the session.
